The Elmer Guitar Luthier Digital Caliper gives accurate measurements for all manner of guitar building and tech jobs and is also specially customised for fretwork. A notch in the jaw accepts the fretwire tang to allow easy measurement of just the fretwire crown height and a notch in the base by the depth rod allows it to be placed over the fret on to the fretboard to measure the height of installed frets (zero the readout with the rod flush to the base then place over the fret to read the height). The two notches allow you to compare installed fretwire to new fretwire to accurately match replacement wire or find a different size should the existing wire be too big or small, check the height after levelling and create fall aways. The jaws can be locked to preserve a reading, the calipers have a digital read out for quick and easy measurements and it displays in mm, inch and fractions of an inch and they come with a durable plastic storage case included.
