The Fredric Effects Blue Monarch overdrive is based on the popular Marshall BluesBreaker overdrive of the '90s combined with the mods offered by the fabled Analogman King of Tone version (but without the long waiting list).

The layout has been designed so that the main controls are all external with a front mounted toggle switch replacing the previously internal DIP switch functions. The EQ controls are expanded over the original Blues Breaker with the addition of a Treble Boost knob which adds top end presence and clarity and the clipping switch changes the nature of the overdrive, in the up position it is an open, less compressed sound and in the up position it adds more gain and has a more compressed sound. The total gain available from the gain knob has also been slightly increased to make this a very versatile pedal. Fredric Effects have also added an internal DIP switchable boost stage to give more overall volume than the Blues Breaker/King of Tone which some find do not have enough volume on tap. Their standard welded steel enclosure with durable powder coat finish is a more pedalboard friendly size and great for gigs and tours.
