The Gotoh GE101A is the classic tailpiece design for anchoring the strings of your Tune-o-matic bridge equipped guitars. Made from lightweight aluminium like the original Gibsons, it features height adjustable metric posts, spaced 82 mm apart (standard Gibson spacing) that screw securely into metal body anchors.
If you are upgrading parts on a metric 'import' guitar (Epiphone, Schecter, ESP LTD etc), the 8 mm posts supplied will screw directly into the vast majority of existing tailpiece body bushings, for imperial USA guitars (e.g. a Gibson Les Paul) use the Gotoh tailpiece body only as it will fit on to the existing imperial posts. The tailpiece comes with brass studs/posts and steel bushings/anchors.
It can be strung the traditional way or alternatively the strings can be fed through the front side then wrapped over the back of the tailpiece before going to the bridge (often used when tightening the tailpiece all the way down against the guitar body).

Good product
I purchased this item to upgrade my Epi LP 59 Std outfit, I feel it does improve the sustain/tone over the original Epi hardware, in conjunction with the Gotoh GE104B ABR-1 bridge, in my opinion.
Just a note, the studs supplied will screw directly into the Epi's original 12mm bushing, which is what I have done, the Gotoh bushing is 11mm and is too small for the factory drilled holes in the Epi.

Gotoh Bridge & Stop Tailpiece
Bought as a pair to upgrade 2004 Epiphone Les Paul, I would have really liked a faber aged master set but at roughly £100 more I didn’t feel this was justified, however overall I do feel disappointed. Issues I encountered were the stud bushes were too long for this particular guitar, not a huge issue but I would have liked to have fitted as a set, the bridge saddles needed to be cut, again not an issue but this led to my biggest problem which in fairness is down to me, whilst cutting the string saddle groove’s I wound the saddles to one side to give better clearance to cut an angle & in doing so managed to cross thread 1 saddle adjustment screw having then needing to drill it & I am still looking for a replacement screw.
