The JHS 3 Series Screamer Overdrive Pedal is their popular, but now unavailable, 'Strong Mod' to a Tube Screamer in a standalone pedal. The mod is switchable between on and off which gives you a standard TS8008/TS9 style pedal.

The Strong Mod gives you more clean headroom, better usability as a boost (more available volume), asymmetrical clipping, more versatile drive and tone controls as well as a more pleasing frequency response (with added clarity by letting presence through). Tone and gain sculpting is provided by the Volume, Tone and Drive control knobs and the +/- engages the Strong Mod in the + position (the - position gives you a standard TS8008/TS9 pedal with its symmetrical clipping and more compression).
