This official Fender S-1 Switch Push/Push Pot CTS 250K Short Shaft Audio Taper Potentiometer packs two functions in one, the pot works as normal on its own but built in is an independent four pole double throw (4PDT) switch which can be wired to add/remove pickups, coil splitting and tapping, series/parallel switching and phase switching just by pushing down on the guitars control knob. The S-1 switch can be retrofitted to nearly any USA and Mexico made Stratocasters manufactured from 1954-present.

This Push/Push is a more convenient version of the traditional push/pull pot as it is easier to activate, you simply push on the switch cap which is set into the top of the knob and it will either click down or click back up depending on its current position, only the switch cap will move meaning your control knob remains unaffected (so there's less chance of accidentally changing the potentiometer's setting while changing the switch position). The 250K Ohms resistance gives a warmer tone and is traditionally used for single coil pickups and its logarithmic audio taper is normally used for volume pots so the human ear can hear the volume change more smoothly (Fender normally use audio taper for tone pots as well). The imperial threaded short shaft is useful when mounting to scratchplates or control plates (Stratocasters, Telecasters etc.) to ensure the knobs do not sit too high above the body, both the threaded shaft and knob mounting shaft are made from durable brass and it has fine 24 spline mounting for imperial sized knobs.

Please note the S-1 switch function is only accessible with Fender S-1 Switch control knobs (available from us separately) and due to the pot shaft being hollowed out to accept the switch actuator extra care must be taken when installing and removing the knobs.
