These stainless steel Guitar Fret Scale Templates are designed to be used with our Elmer Fret Slotting Miter Box to allow you to cut fret slots quickly and accurately.

Each template has a different set of notches down each long edge allowing you to slot two different scale lengths per template, simply fix your fretboard to the template with double sided tape and engage the first notch onto the indexing pin in the sidewall of the mitre box, once your slot is cut to the required depth move the template along until the next notch engages with the indexing pin and cut the next slot. The notches and index pin ensures the frets are spaced accurately every time and speeds up the slotting process dramatically over marking out each fret manually. Each template has notches for 24 frets and a nut slot (the Fender 25.5" scale has two notches for the nut to cut the front and back edge of it).
