Description
This official Gibson Custombucker Underwound Alnico III PAF Style Humbucker Pickup is based on the (previously custom shop excusive) Custombucker but has fewer windings on the bobbins resulting in more clearly defined overtones and harmonics.
Years of research and testing by Gibson engineers resulted in a formula and process that replicates the sonic magic of the original Patent Applied For humbucker pickups from the '50s, each Custombucker uses Alnico 3 magnets for a warm, sweet tone with vintage accurate 42 AWG wire and unbalanced coils that are left unpotted, the use of maple spacers helps to reduce unwanted vibrations, shielded single conductor braided push back hookup wire and a long leg base plate with 'patent applied for' sticker completes the pickup.
