These Taiway Dress Nuts give a very classy finish when mounting mini toggle switches with 1/4-40 imperial threads (like all our Taiway switches). Please note these are 'blind' nuts i.e. the switch thread will not screw all the way through the nut, it only screws up to the inner chamfer at the top surface of the dress nut (to preserve the looks of the dress nut). The nut takes up around 2 mm of thread so for our Taiway mini toggle switches that have a 9 mm long thread this leaves you will 7 mm of thread below the nut (when fully tightened down), to install on a scratchplate or pedal enclosure thread a standard hex nut onto the switch before mounting and use that nut to set the height of the switch thread showing above the surface (you want just under 2 mm of thread showing), then mount the switch and install the dress nut, for a rear routed guitar (electronics installed through the body from the rear with no pickguard) you will need to ensure the body wood at the controls is thin enough to accommodate the switch and nut (with our 9 mm long thread Taiway switches the body wood cannot be thicker than 7.5 mm or it will not leave enough thread showing on the front of the guitar to mount the dress nut). The nut has two flat edges to allow tightening with a 9 mm spanner / wrench.
