The Wera Zyklop 8790 1/4" Square Drive Deep Hex Socket will fit over long protruding threads to make deep adjustment of nuts and bolts without having to use a spanner (perfect for making adjustments in areas where there is minimal space around the nut/bolt).

The deep hex socket is great for guitar parts with long posts/shafts above the nut like machine heads and potentiometers that standard size sockets aren't deep enough to fit over, the 10 mm size is used on all modern screw in tuner bushings, the 11 mm size is used on metric potentiometers (M8 / 8 mm thread nuts) and the 12 mm size is used on metric jack sockets (M9 / 9 mm thread nuts). They are made from chrome vanadium steel and have a specially shaped hexagonal profile that's slightly recessed in the corners to ensure the socket drives from the flats, this enables high power transmission and keeps the edges of the nuts and bolts from getting chewed up. The socket also has a knurled edge around the drive end for grip when manually finger tightening without tools (also great for snugging up guitar parts). The socket fits onto standard 1/4" square drive socket wrenches/ratchets (like the Wera Zyklop 8004 available from us a separate item) and spinner handles and as separate items we also have the Wera 870/1 1/4" Hexagon to 1/4" Square Drive Adaptor if you would like to use the socket with 1/4" hexagon drive bit holding screwdrivers like our Wera Kraftform Kompakt 812/1. The sockets are colour coded and labelled with the size so you can quickly find the one you need.
