This pack of two Hosco plastic side dot guitar inlay material contains one black rod and one white rod for a choice of colour. Each rod is 200 mm long and 2 mm diameter and will create around 50 dots. Simply drill a shallow hole in the fingerboard edge, glue in the dot rod and cut off the excess flush with the fretboard. Typically black dots are used with light fretboard colours like maple and white dots are used with dark fretboard colours like rosewood and ebony.
