This official Fender CTS 1 Meg Audio Taper Short Shaft Potentiometer is used on American Vintage and Classic Player series Jazzmaster guitars manufactured from 1998-2012.

The short shaft is useful when mounting to scratchplates and control plates to ensure the knobs do not sit too high above the body and its logarithmic audio taper allows the human ear can hear the volume change more smoothly. Both the 3/8" imperial threaded shaft and knob mounting shaft are made from durable brass and it has fine 24 spline mounting for imperial sized knobs. To use metric knobs that have a set screw (smooth interior, no splines) simply line up the set screw with the split in the shaft and tighten the screw.
