This official Ibanez Volume 500K Linear Taper Guitar Potentiometer is used on many of their top of the line Japanese made guitars like the RG, S, AZ and Jem models from their Prestige and J Custom series.

The pot is made for Ibanez by Alpha who make great value electronics and are one of the most common potentiometers used in guitar electronics circuits. This 500 k Ohms resistance pot gives a brighter tone and traditionally used with humbucking pickups, the pot comes in linear taper which Ibanez use for their volume control (it is not particularly common to use linear taper for volume pots, most brands use audio taper, but Ibanez have said that it is more suitable for the style of playing typically done on Ibanez guitars like volume swell effects). These are full size potentiometers with 8 mm metric threaded shaft and metric coarse 18 spline knob mounting, to use metric knobs that have a set screw (like standard Prestige RG dome knobs) simply line up the set screw with the split in the shaft and tighten the screw, the knob mounting shaft is also made from durable brass. Mounting hardware is included (these pots may have a locator tab on the top side of the pot, bend this down flat before fitting). Does not come in Ibanez branded packaging.
