The EarthQuaker Devices Time Shadows II Subharmonic Multi Delay Pedal is a wild synth like modulation pedal developed with Death By Audio.

This is a major update to the original limited Time Shadows release in 2020. Due to demand, this production model now features three modes of multi layered effects, user assignable expression control and six preset slots to save and recall your favourite settings. This pedal will provide layers of detail to help you dial in dramatically unique guitar tones. All three sounds are wildly different from each other and yet share a perfectly designed harmony to be completely complementary and suitable for every style and genre of music. A single switch lets you quickly choose between three modes and four control knobs and TRS jack allow you to tweak their parameters:

• EQD mode is an envelope controlled sub-octave filter delay, which takes your input signal, adds digital distortion, blends it with a polyphonic sub octave, feeds it into a delay then spits it out into a highly resonant envelope controlled lowpass filter (distortion, octave drop, delay, reverb, filter)
• The !¡ mode is a pitch warping dual delay, where each repeat simultaneously shifts up and down with each regeneration
• DBA mode is a multi-delay regenerating filter, which moves your signal from icy shimmers to cosmic space caves of bouncing repeats The Time knob adjusts the delay time, while Span controls the intensity of repletion. The Filter knob is even more powerful, on the EQD side this controls an envelope for the filter frequency and a gate for the cutoff to the input of the delay and on the DBA side this controls the filter frequency as well as the shift point of a precisely phased delay line for pole zero interpolation. The Unity knob controls your mix. Use any TRS expression pedal to remotely take control over the Time, Span or Filter.

Six available preset slots enable you to save and recall your favourite settings with detail. The settings for each of the three controls, the mode switch and the expression jack assignment can be saved and recalled in any of the slots.

Time Shadows II also helpfully has two global settings which are selected with the footswitch, and your choice is indicated by the held colour of the Save/Recall switch LED. In Live mode, the pedal will interact as you tweak the controls and any changes will have no effect unless saved. In Preset mode, your stored saves, including expression pedal mapping, are selected using the Preset control knob switch, and the physical settings of the controls will be ignored. These global settings help you change how you interact with the pedal without having to bend down for adjustment, perfect for live performances.
