Titebond Original Wood Glue is the industry standard for guitar building, used by everyone from hobby builders and boutique luthiers to large brands like Gibson and Martin.
When used in well made joints the bond will be stronger than the wood itself, it dries hard allowing for sanding, cleans up easily with water while wet, dries translucent and is unaffected by finishes when dry. It provides a strong initial tack to make glue ups easier and sets quickly so wood needs to spend less time being clamped (although we recommend waiting 24 hours before machining or stressing the joint).
Titebond Original Wood Glue is an aliphatic resin (commonly called yellow glue or carpenters glue) which offers much better creep resistance than PVA, this is particularly important for joints under load like set necks, scarf joints, fretboards etc. and so this makes it the most suitable and popular wood glue for guitar building (and also more suitable than waterproof glues like Titebond II and Titebond III).
Made in the USA, Titebond Original Wood Glue is the 'go to' product for guitar builders across the globe.
