Description
This set of 6 in line Gotoh SD91 tuners are in the traditional Kluson design used on vintage Fender guitars (and used by and sold under the Fender name for their re-issue guitars). To preserve the vintage look of the tuners we opted for Gotoh's Magnum Locking system without the thumbscrew operation, instead these use locking caps on the tuner posts, simply thread the string through the tuner post hole and begin winding, the locking cap will automatically engage at the correct tension locking the string in place, you can then bring the string up to tension as normal (to release simply detune the string until the cap releases, or if the string is broken insert a coin in the locking cap slot and release it from the string). The press fit bushing fits a 11/32" hole (8.8 mm) in the headstock to secure the string post, and the Nickel and Gold versions also come with a 9.2 mm diameter bushing to fit slightly wider headstock post holes.

This is the third set of Gotoh locking tuners that I've purchased from Glued to Music. One set for a Fender Strat, one for a Gibson Les Paul, and this one for my Fender Tele.

Excellent tuning stability with these.
Good clear very concise instructions, with everything needed to install these. My only problem was the two different diameter Bushes. One size too loose, the other too tight, so hole reaming with various tools was required, which took a while. Once installed they looked identical to the ones removed. The "locking of the strings" is unusual but once I'd got the knack, all was good. All in all, a very worthwhile Squier upgrade, which didn't cost a shed load of money from Glued To Music.

These are great tuners (see other review for the Left Handed version). The locking mechanism is the easiest I’ve come across and the tuners maintain their vintage style. I purchased the Left Handed version for a Hendrix Tribute guitar I’m modifying now. GTM service is first classed and competitively priced. This site will be my first stop for new parts.
