The Switchcraft Deep Knurled Nut is used to extend the length of the threaded mounting section on their toggle switches for mounting them through guitar bodies as opposed to just thin scratchplates, particularly useful with their long body 3 way toggle switch which has a relatively short threaded section (the deep knurled nut is installed as standard with the Switchcraft long body toggle switch on all Gibson Les Paul guitars).
